Checking For Open-Circuits
A ring break diagnosis should be performed to determine where the fault has occurred. Get the MOST system to perform a complete ring break diagnosis, as follows:
- Ignition switch position II.
- Locate fuses
- For vehicles equipped only with Infotainment control module (ICM) and Integrated Audio Module (IAM), remove fuse F6, Central electronic module (CEM).
- For vehicles equipped with one or several control modules in addition to Infotainment control module (ICM) and Integrated Audio Module (IAM), disconnect bridge RD1 in electrical distribution box in luggage compartment.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Depending on what has been removed above, replace the strap RD1 in the electrical distribution unit in the cargo compartment or reinsert fuse F6 in the Central Electronic Module (CEM).
- Wait at least 30 seconds before reading out interruption position.
HINT: The RD1 bracket is in the central electrical unit which is right at the back of the cargo compartment for the S80. In the V70 it is in the fuse box that is at the bottom of the cargo compartment.
