Checking For Open-Circuits
A ring break diagnosis should be performed to determine where the fault has occurred. Get the MOST system to perform a complete ring break diagnosis, as follows:
- Ignition switch position II.
- Locate fuses
- For vehicles equipped only with Infotainment control module (ICM) and Integrated Audio Module (IAM), remove fuse F6, Central electronic module (CEM).NOTE:
For vehicles with structure week 200946 or later: remove fuse 4/56-F21.
- For vehicles equipped with one or several control modules in addition to Infotainment control module (ICM) and Integrated Audio Module (IAM), disconnect bridge RD1 in electrical distribution box in luggage compartment.NOTE:
For vehicles with structure week 200946 or later: remove fuse 11C/1.
- For vehicles equipped only with Infotainment control module (ICM) and Integrated Audio Module (IAM), remove fuse F6, Central electronic module (CEM).
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Depending on what has been removed above, replace the strap RD1 in the electrical distribution unit in the cargo compartment or reinsert fuse F6 in the Central Electronic Module (CEM).NOTE:
For vehicles with structure week 200946 or later: reinstall fuse 4/56-F21 or 11C/1.
- Wait at least 30 seconds before reading out interruption position.
HINT: The RD1 bracket is in the distribution box, which is in the luggage compartment.
HINT: Fuses 4/56-F21 and 11C/1 are located in the fuse box under the glove box.
