Checking The Sensor

Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) checks the voltage to the switch for the tailgate's external handle.

Check status for the external handle by clicking on the symbol for VCT2000. Status shall show pressed in when you press in the handle, and released when you do not press the handle.

If status shows pressed in even if there is no evident action, check the external handle with regards to the sensor having been displaced.

The Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) checks the status for boot lid motor closing, and the time closure takes using sensor 2 (outer lock position) and sensor 1 (inner lock position). Sensor 2 (outer lock position) shall be active when the lock is in either the outer or inner lock position and not active if the lock is open. Sensor 1 (inner lock position) shall only be active when the lock is completely closed and not active if the lock is open or in the outer lock position.

Check the sensors by:

If status does not change for the sensors, the lock mechanism shall be replaced.
