Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information ECM-B102486
Condition
Central electronic module (CEM) has the overall function for monitoring the signals from Start control module (SCU).
Engine control module (ECM) receives the start signal partly from a directly connected cable from Start control module (SCU), as well as from Central electronic module (CEM) via CAN-communication.
Engine control module (ECM) checks so that the signal from Central electronic module (CEM) is reliable.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The quality of the signal coming via CAN is too low.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Start of engine.
NOTE:
The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute Value
- The signal on the direct-connected cable to Engine control module (ECM) is used.
Possible Source
- Open-circuit in the communication cable.
- Short-circuit to ground in the communication cable.
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the communication cable.
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals.
- Open-circuit in terminals.
- Short-circuit in connections.
Fault symptom[s]
- Autostart; No Functionality
