Replacing The Component
The engine control module (ECM) has registered an internal fault.
If the fault is intermittent, it has been registered previously but is no longer present. Intermittent faults can be caused by interference at start up of the engine control module (ECM) or may be a different type of fault which occurs on different occasions. The fault is evaluated depending on how it occurs. If the fault recurs, try downloading new software to the engine control module (ECM). If software cannot be downloaded or new software does not solve the problem, replace the engine control module (ECM) and download the relevant software to the new control module.
In the event of a permanent fault, try downloading new software to the engine control module (ECM). If software cannot be downloaded or new software does not solve the problem, replace the engine control module (ECM) and download the relevant software to the new control module.
