HINT: The diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are included in a larger fault-tracing for the symptom Starter motor not running. 

The central electronic module (CEM) checks the key position via the start control module (SCU). Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) CEM-1A41 is stored if the central electronic module (CEM) registers that the key position is outside its permitted range for more than 0.5 seconds.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the key is in the ignition switch.

Substitute Value 

• None.

Possible Source 

• Faulty start control module (SCU)
• Short-circuit in the signal cable between the central electronic module (CEM) and the start control module (SCU).

Fault symptom[s] 

• The starter motor does not turn.
