The Phone module (PHM) registers the signal from the external SIM card holder.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:

• No signal from the external SIM card holder obtained.

The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:

• Request from mechanic.

Substitute Value 

• None.

Possible Source 

• Contact resistance, oxidation or open-circuit in the terminals.
• Faulty SIM card reader.
• Incorrect SIM-card holder.

Fault symptom[s] 

• Cellular phone/Other cellular phone problems
• Cellular phone/SIM card not accepted
• Cellular phone/PIN code not accepted
• Cellular phone/Does not work
