Condition

The electrical power steering module (EPS) checks the speed signal from the brake control module (BCM) via the CAN network.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored in the electrical power steering module (EPS) if the electrical power steering module (EPS) registers an incorrect speed signal from the brake control module (BCM).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.

Substitute Value 

• A preprogrammed value for speed is used by the electrical power steering module (EPS).

Possible Source 

• Fault trace the brake control module (BCM).

Fault symptom[s] 

• Abnormally light steering at high speed
• Abnormally heavy steering at low speed.
