Checking The Component And Wiring

Fig 1: Identifying Ignition OFF

Ignition off
Disconnect connector A from the phone module (PHM)
Disconnect the connector for the Volvo On Call switch.
Check the cables at control module connector A for the internal microphone. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Check between:
- terminals #15 (#15) and #14 (#14)
- terminals #15 (#15) and #13 (#13)
- terminals #15 (#15) and #6 (#6).
Try replacing the microphone if the cables are OK.

Remedy as necessary.
