Replacing And Programming The SRS Control Module

The SRS control module has registered an internal fault.

NOTE:

The hardware P/N for the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) must be checked if this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored immediately after another control module has been programmed.

Read off ECU, hardware P/N using the VCT2000 (or appropriate scan tool).

If the number is one of those shown below, the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) must only be reprogrammed using new software.

If the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored on another occasion or for a different type of vehicle, the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) assembly must be replaced.

CAUTION:

A new SRS control module is delivered without software. The control module must be programmed in order to function after replacement.
