Checking The Control Module

Ignition off
Connect the breakout box to the control module without connecting the breakout box connector to the transmission
Transmission connector disconnected
Ignition on
Gear selector in position P
Connect a voltmeter between terminals #51 (#A51) and #53 (#A53) on the breakout box
Activate solenoid SL.
The voltage must oscillate between approximately 0 and 12 V. If the voltage does not oscillate, replace the control module.

NOTE:
When disconnecting the transmission connector, the control module may store diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for the gear-shift position sensor, the shift solenoids and temperature sensor etc.
