Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information HCM-U042281

Condition 

The control module continually supplies necessary information from the Central electronic module (CEM) via CAN communication. The control module checks the quality of the information from the Central electronic module (CEM).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:

• Transmitting control module indicates a lower quality level of information than the Headlamp Control Module (HCM) accepts.

The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:

• Ignition switch position II.

Possible Source 

• Fault-trace in transmitting control module.

Fault symptom[s] 

• Active Bi-Xenon light; No Functionality
• Message in information display
• Indicator lamp Active Bi-Xenon light; Flashing
