Checking The Component

Check the generator (GEN) brushes. If the brushes are worn, replace the alternator control module (ACM). Check that the brushes can move in the regulator housing. The brushes are lightly sprung. Also check the slip rings. If the slip rings are worn, replace the generator (GEN).

If the brushes and slip rings appear to be OK, try a new alternator control module (ACM). If this does not help, try a new generator (GEN).

Remedy as necessary.
