Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information ECM-6100

Condition

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine cooling fan control module registers that the temperature is too high in the engine cooling fan control module amplifier or that the fan blade is blocked.

Signal too high is detected when starting up the engine, while signal missing is detected when driving.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the engine is idling.

Substitute Value 

• Engine cooling fan (FC) switched off.

Possible Source 

• Obstructed fan blade
• Damaged engine cooling fan (FC) control module.

Fault symptom[s] 

• Engine cooling/Engine overheats/runs hot
