Checking The Component

WARNING:

Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed adaptive seat belt force limiter. The adaptive seat belt force limiter could deploy

Ignition off, wait for 15 seconds.
Disconnect the connector from the driver's adaptive seat belt force limiter.
Attach a special tool to the connector (to the ignition cable). To carry out this procedure, use: see 9511506
NOTE:
The special tool must be checked and fault-free. If the special tool is faulty, the diagnostic readings will be incorrect. This will make fault-tracing harder.
Switch on the ignition. Wait 10 seconds.
Read off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol in VIDA (Volvo scan tool).
- If the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is permanent:
  Refer to CHECKING THE WIRING AND TERMINALS
- If the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is intermittent:
  Refer to REPLACING A COMPONENT
