Checking Remote Keys

Check if it is possible to lock and unlock the vehicle with the remote key.

If vehicle locking/unlocking does not work using the remote key, try replacing the battery in the remote key.

Did locking/unlocking work? 

• YES 

  Refer to CHECKING COMMUNICATION WITH THE KEYLESS VEHICLE MODULE (KVM) 

• NO 

  Refer to CHECKING REMOTE KEYS 

Replace with another remote key.

Check if it is possible to lock and unlock the vehicle with the remote key.

If vehicle locking/unlocking does not work using the remote key, try replacing the battery in the remote key.

Did locking/unlocking work? 

• YES 

  Refer to CHECKING COMMUNICATION WITH THE KEYLESS VEHICLE MODULE (KVM) 

• NO 

  Refer to CHECKING REMOTE KEYS 

Add a new remote key to the vehicle via the software manager in VIDA (Volvo scan tool).
