The control modules communicate with each other via a standardized serial communication interface - control area network (CAN) - to exchange information. The control modules transmit and receive information. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the steering wheel module (SWM) has registered an internal fault.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.

Substitute Value 

• Active yaw control is blocked.

Possible Source 

• Internal fault in the steering wheel module (SWM).

Fault symptom[s] 

• Traction control warning lamp lit
• The stability control system does not function.
