One Ecu

Side Obstacle Detection Control Module Left (SODL) and Side Obstacle Detection Control Module Right (SODR) are two identical control modules with the same part number. After installation, the control modules configure themselves for the left and right sides.

After the control modules are installed in the vehicle and ignition position II is applied, the control modules individually check an input on its connector to see if it is grounded or open in the vehicle's cable harness. If the input is grounded, the control module configures itself to automatically be a Side Obstacle Detection Control Module Left (SODL). In the event of detecting an open-circuit on the input, the control module configures itself to be a Side Obstacle Detection Control Module Right (SODR). Provided that no calibration has been made, the control modules, at each ignition, verify the input and configure themselves to the correct side of the vehicle. It is after a successful calibration that the control modules lock to the side they are installed on, i.e. permanently a Side Obstacle Detection Control Module Left (SODL) and a Side Obstacle Detection Control Module Right (SODR).

To unlock Side Obstacle Detection Control Module Left (SODL) and Side Obstacle Detection Control Module Right (SODR), see; DIAGNOSTICS/VEHICLE COMMUNICATION/SODL/Advanced/Resetting Side Obstacle Detection Control Module Left (SODL) / Right (SODR).
