Signal Specification Specification, Phone Module (PHM) - Applies To Vehicles With Infotainment Head Unit (IHU)

General 

All the values given below apply between the respective connection (column 1) and power ground (#C1:6). If this is not the case, it is indicated under Miscellaneous.

NOTE:

Connect the breakout box and check the ground terminals before taking readings.

There may be several connections and connectors between the control module and components. For more information about these, see the appropriate Wiring diagram.

U = DC voltage in volts (V) UAC = AC voltage in volts (V)
Ubat = Battery voltage (V) f = Frequency in Hertz (Hz)
Ulow = Voltage approximately 0 V t = Time in seconds (s)
PWM = Pulse-width modulation I = Current in amperes (A)

#1 #C1:1 Activation signal and diagnostic signal for the switches ON CALL and SOS . Not depressed = 5 V
ON CALL pressed in = approx. 1.5 V
SOS pressed in = 0.9 V
Applies only to vehicles with Volvo On Call .
#2 #C1:2 Diagnostic signal for the switches ON CALL and SOS . U = 4.50 - 4.75 V Applies only to vehicles with Volvo On Call .
#3 #C1:3 Power supply, lighting of the switch SOS . U = 0 - 12 V Applies only to vehicles with Volvo On Call .
