Description Of Frozen Values, Transmission Control Module (TCM) [2014-2017, TG-81SC | 2016-2017, TG-81SC AWD]: General

Frozen values are parameter values that are stored when a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored. Not all the parameters described need to be implemented in the control module. This varies from system to system. Parameters can also vary depending on with which type of transmission the vehicle is equipped.

Certain parameters can be displayed without a value or with unreasonable values. This can occur if the control module has not stored a value, when a basic value has been stored instead or if the parameter is received via CAN when there is an error on CAN. For example, the rpm values may be unreasonable if a malfunction occurs on the transmission's speed sensors.
