Roll-Over (Only XC60)

In case of vehicle roll-over the roll-over sensor senses the vehicle's lateral angle.

Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) starts a calculation how high the rotation energy is. If the rotation energy is high enough, the control module will activate the roll-over protection.

All seatbelt tensioners in the vehicle, front (8/33, 8/34), rear (8/55, 8/56, 8/62) and front waist (8/92) (only certain markets), will then be activated. Also inflatable curtains (8/66, 8/67) will be activated.

The Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) also transmits an impact signal on a directly connected cable to the Central electronic module (CEM) (4/56) and Phone module (PHM) (16/60) (not USA/CDN) when the impact protection has been activated.

A collision status signal is also sent to the central electronic module (CEM) and phone module (PHM) (not USA/CDN) on CAN. These two control modules make sure that:
