Operating Modes
When the Accessory Connectivity Unit (ACU) is off, the ordinary video image passes from the Integrated Audio Module (IAM) to the Infotainment Control Module (ICM) via the Accessory Connectivity Unit (ACU). The Accessory Connectivity Unit (ACU) is activated by selecting "MEDIA" on the center console keypad and activation occurs via CAN and LIN bus, via the Infotainment Control Module (ICM). The image from the Accessory Connectivity Unit (ACU) is then displayed on the front display screen. In this operating mode the functions belonging to the Accessory Connectivity Unit (ACU) can be controlled using touch panel , the steering wheel buttons and voice control.
The Accessory Connectivity Unit (ACU) is +30 fed and the logical control (switch "MEDIA") occurs through the Climate Control Module (CCM), which in turn, is +15- fed.
The Accessory Connectivity Unit (ACU) can assume three different operating modes. The request is sent from the Infotainment Control Module (ICM). The three modes are as follows:
- Active - Accessory Connectivity Unit (ACU) is in full operation, charging of the USB device permitted via the USB socket is permitted.
- Standby - the LIN receiver is ready to either switch to active or off mode.
- Off - the ACU now switches to its lowest, off, state.
The following is also checked via LIN bus:
- The display screen.
- The sound.
- The basic vehicle information, such as speed and identification, that the Accessory Connectivity Unit (ACU) receives.
- Information from the Accessory Connectivity Unit (ACU) to the front screen. The information is used to enable visual communication with the user when the Accessory Connectivity Unit (ACU) is used.
