Accessory Connectivity Unit (ACU) [2011-2017]: Function: USB

The USB connection is used for a 3G and 4G dongle for connecting to the Internet. Most 3G and 4G dongles on respective markets are compatible with the ACU. Volvo can however not guarantee that all 3G and 4G dongles available on the market work with the ACU. Some applications may require a subscription purchase of to work. The speed of the Internet connection can vary. Coverage on 3G and 4G networks cannot be guaranteed overall.

The USB connection also allow connection of different storage media (memories, mobile telephones etc). USB devices can be charged when the control module is active (max 500 mA).

The ACU is software updated by USB memory. For more information, refer to DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTIONS  .

The USB connection supports standard 2.0.
