Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) is located under the left front seat. Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) features three connections (four connections on the Japanese market) (not S60 (11-) /V60).

A connection for the rear video camera, a video output to High Level Display Front (HLDF) for XC60 (before structure week 201046), and for screen in Infotainment control module (ICM) for S60 (11-), V60 and XC60 (XC60 after structure week 201046), a connection for ground, voltage feed and CAN-signals as well as, on the Japanese market, a connection for the sideview camera (not S60 (11-) /V60).

The Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) uses the connection for the rear camera to send control signals to the camera via an internal communication interface similar to LIN-protocol, receive LVDS video signals, and to supply the camera with power.

The video output is used to transmit the NTSC-video composite signal to High Level Display Front (HLDF) for XC60 (before structure week 201046) and to screen on Infotainment control module (ICM) for S60 (11-), V60 and XC60 (XC60 after structure week 201046).

The CAN terminal is used to receive necessary signals from:

XC60 on the Japanese market also features a sideview camera to meet Japanese legal requirements. Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) uses the connection for the side-view camera to receive the analogue video signal and to supply the camera with power.

Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) is activated in ignition position II when reverse gear is engaged (on the condition that the parking camera is activated in the menu). When Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) is active, the camera (s) is also active.

Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) switches off:

For Parking Assistance Camera (PAC), the rear camera can be set if bars for display and marking of objects in the background as well as help lines are to be shown. Guidelines can be activated separately. Bars for display and marking of objects in the background require that help lines are activated.

If a trailer is connected electrically to the vehicle, neither bars nor guidelines will appear.

High Level Display Front (HLDF) (only XC60 before structure week 201046)

The following applies to all markets, except Japan:

If the Parking Assistance Camera (PAC) is activated, an image of what is behind the vehicle is shown. Otherwise, the monitor displays navigation information or is turned off.

The following applies to the Japanese market:

In the menu the side-view camera can be set for automatic activation at each new driving cycle. The side-view camera is set as default from factory for automatic activation at each new driving cycle. It is deactivated when the vehicle reaches a forward speed above 12 km/h, when you engage reverse gear or press the switch for the parking camera.

Otherwise, the monitor displays navigation information or is turned off.

For vehicles with sideview camera the switch for the parking camera is located in the bottom row on the comfort panel.

The High Level Display Front (HLDF) is controlled by the Infotainment control module (ICM) and the image is controlled by the Parking Assistance Camera (PAC).
