The main task of the Television Module (TVM) is to manage the television functions.
There are two versions of Television Module (TVM), one for the European market and one for the Japanese market. The version for the Japanese market has a card reader that requires a correctly inserted and working card, to produce an image.
The control module cannot be retrofitted.

The Television Module (TVM) partly communicates with directly connected components and partly with other control modules via the MOST network. All diagnostic communication between VIDA and the Television Module (TVM) is via the Infotainment control module (ICM).
The Television Module (TVM) does not have its own keypad. During menu operation the Television Module (TVM) uses the keypad on the Climate control module (CCM), the keypad on the steering wheel or infotainment remote control. The menu appears on the screen on the Infotainment control module (ICM) and in some cases also on the screen for the Rear seat entertainment module (RSE), if applicable.
The control module checks performed activations, as well as input and output signals through integrated diagnostics. When the control module detects a fault a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored.
Any DTCs are stored in the control module memory. The information can be read out using VIDA via the diagnostic socket in the vehicle.
If the Television Module (TVM) is not powered this results in no communication on the MOST network and the system shutting down.
