Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT)

The engine control module (ECM) (4/46) processes the reading it gets from the coolant temperature sensor. The engine control module (ECM) (4/46) sends the temperature reading to the driver information module (DIM) (5/1) via CAN.

The driver receives information via a text message and a warning lamp if the temperature becomes too high.
