Brake Light Switch, Status

The value indicates the status of the brake light switch. The engine control module (ECM) sends a signal on the controller area network (CAN) about the position of the brake light switch: activated or not activated. The transmission control module (TCM) uses the signal for the internal gear functions and diagnosing the transmission.

Not active = Brake light switch not affected

Active = Brake light switch actuated
