Condition

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the central electronic module (CEM) registers that communication with the wiper motor module (WMM) is not operating.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed with the ignition in positions I or II.

Substitute Value 

• The windshield wipers operate at high speed for 5 minutes
• The windshield wipers operate at low speed for 5 minutes
• The windshield wipers operate at short intervals for 5 minutes
• The windshield wipers stop.

Possible Source 

• Open-circuit in the communication cable to the wiper motor module (WMM)
• Contact resistance in the terminals
• No voltage supply/ground to the Wiper motor module (WMM).
• Defective wiper motor module (WMM).

Fault symptom[s] 

• The windshield wiper motor runs constantly
• The windshield wipers are not working.
• Windshield wiper/Does not stop at shut off
