Replacing Control Modules And Downloading Software

CAUTION: A new control module is delivered without software. In order for the control module to function new software must be programmed into the control module after it has been replaced.

Replace the control module and download the new software. See UPPER ELECTRONIC MODULE (UEM)/REARVIEW MIRROR, REPLACING .

HINT: When diagnostic trouble code (DTC) E001 is stored, communication with the control module cannot be established. This can be remedied in two ways.

Press the remote control button for local lighting
Remove fuse 11C/28 from the fusebox in the passenger compartment. Reinstall the fuse again.
