Condition
Information about the brake pedal position is transmitted on the controller area network (CAN) from the brake control module (BCM) to the engine control module (ECM).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored and information about the fault is transmitted to the engine control module (ECM) if the brake control module (BCM) registers a fault on the brake pedal position sensor.
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when the ignition is on.
