Checking Communication

Press the brake pedal and move the gear shift selector to the different positions. Check that the gear position is updated in the display in the combined instrument panel. Compare with the indicators in the panel for the gear selector.

If the gear position is updated in the combined instrument panel and in the panel at the gear selector, the problem was probably caused by contact resistance or oxidation.

If the gear position is updated in the combined instrument panel but not in the panel at the gear selector, replace the printed circuit board in the top panel.

If the gear position is updated in the panel at the gear selector but not in the combined instrument panel there is probably a fault in another system. Exit fault-tracing and fault-trace the central electronic module (CEM) or the driver information module (DIM).

   OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

2. The gear position is updated in the combined instrument panel but not in the panel at the gear selector

3. The gear position is updated in the panel at the gear selector but not in the combined instrument panel

   OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

4. The gear position is not updated in the combined instrument panel or in the panel at the gear selector.
