Diagnostic Trouble Code Information BCM-U042829

Condition

The steering angle sensor module (SAS) communicates with the brake control module (BCM) with data sent in "small bundles". Each bundle has an ID number.

Diagnostic trouble code BCM-U042829 is generated if the brake control module (BCM) registers an unexpected ID number.

The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when the ignition is on.

Substitute Value 

• TC is blocked.
• SC is blocked.
• AYC is blocked.

Possible Source 

• Interference or intermittent open circuit on CAN.
• Internal malfunction in steering angle sensor (SAS).

Fault symptom[s] 

• General warning light on.
• Anti-spin is not operational.
• The stability function is not operational.
• The anti-skid function is not operational.
