NOTE:

The diagnostic trouble code only applies to vehicles equipped with DSTC.

The steering angle sensor module (SAS) sends a status signal to the brake control module (BCM).

Diagnostic trouble code BCM-U042864 is generated if the message sent to the brake control module (BCM) by the steering angle sensor (SAS) indicates an internal malfunction.

Substitute Value

TC is blocked.
SC is blocked.
AYC is blocked.

Possible Source

Internal malfunction in steering angle sensor (SAS).

NOTE:

This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is not due to an internal hardware fault in the Brake control module (BCM) and must not be remedied by replacing the control module.

Fault symptom[s]

General warning light on.
Anti-spin is not operational.
The stability function is not operational.
The anti-skid function is not operational.
