Checking The Function Of The Gear-Shift Position Sensor

• Ignition on
• Read Geartronic status by clicking on the symbol for VCT2000.
• Depress the brake pedal. Move the gear selector lever to "MAN  " (manual) and check that the status changes.
• Move the gear selector lever to +. Check that gear selection is updated in the display in the diagnostic tool as well as the display in the combined instrument panel.
• Move the gear selector lever to -. Check that the gear selection is updated.

  If the gear selector lever position is not updated, replace the gear selector module (GSM).

Is the function OK? 

• YES 

  OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO 

  Refer to VERIFICATION
