Phone Module (PHM) - Vehicles With Infotainment Head Unit (IHU) [2015-2016]: Design
ANTENNA
The Phone Module (PHM) has a separate antenna. This antenna contains a telephone antenna and for vehicles prepared for Volvo On Call also a GPS antenna. The antenna is directly connected to the Phone Module (PHM). The GPS antenna signal is only used if the GPS position is not available from the Infotainment Head Unit. The antenna is installed on the roof. The telephone and GPS antennae can be diagnosed.
WIFI ANTENNA
Phone Module (PHM) has integrated WiFi (IEEE 802.11n) that is used to give the unit access to the Internet, apps, navigation and Connected Service Booking (CSB).
SIM CARD HOLDER
The holder for the customer's personal P-SIM card is inside the glove compartment at the top left-hand side. The SIM card holder is directly connected to the Phone Module (PHM).
The SIM card holder can be diagnosed via checks (see: Troubleshooting/Symptom related tests/Checking SIM card and cable to SIM card reader).
SWITCHES FOR VOLVO ON CALL
The ON CALL and SOS switches are located on the ceiling lamp console. Switches are only available for the Phone Module (PHM) with the Volvo On Call function.
The switches are directly connected to the Phone Module (PHM) and also contain an emergency microphone. Power supply and grounding of the switch lighting is via the Phone Module (PHM). The switches can be diagnosed.
