CONTROL MODULE
The Audio Control Module (AUD) Audio Control Module is an amplifier intended to transport the audio signal transmitted on the MOST network out to the directly connected speakers.
The following variants of the Audio Control Module (AUD) are available:
- High Performance
It consists of:
8 loudspeakers
4 x 43 W amplifier output
Headphone panel (option, does not apply to S60 or models with MY 2014-).
- Premium Sound
It consists of:
11 loudspeakers
5 x 130 W amplifier output
Subwoofer with two loudspeakers (only applies to V70, XC70 and XC60)
Headphone panel (option, does not apply to S60 or models with MY 2014-).
Both versions are available with Active Noise Control (ANC) when the Audio Control Module (AUD) has connected microphones located inside the passenger compartment. See the Microphones section.
LOUDSPEAKERS
High Performance
High Performance contains 8 loudspeakers, base mid-range speakers and separate tweeters. The speakers are mounted in the front and rear doors.
Premium Sound
Premium Sound contains 11 speakers and a subwoofer with two speakers (only V70, XC70 and XC60).
A 3-way speaker system is installed in each front door consisting of separate bass, mid-range and treble speakers. A 2-way speaker system is installed in each rear door consisting of bass and mid-range speakers and separate treble speakers. To improve the sound and to amplify sound reproduction there is also a 2-way mid-range and treble speaker fitted in the instrument panel.
The subwoofer is located under the floor in the luggage compartment.
HEADPHONE PANEL (NOT ON S60 OR MODELS WITH MY 2014-).
Audio Control Module (AUD) has two outputs for connecting headphones/earphones. The headphone panel is located by the rear part of the tunnel console. Each separate headphone output has control of volume, next track, previous track, and selection of source.
Headphone panel not on vehicles with MY 2014 onwards.
SUBWOOFER (V70, XC70 AND XC60)
Audio Control Module (AUD) is available with extra bass speakers, subwoofer. The subwoofer consists of two speakers. The speaker elements are two specially manufactured 6 inch bass speakers with a voice-coil in each speaker element.
The subwoofer is located under the floor in the luggage compartment, immediately behind the rear seat.
MICROPHONES (S60 (11-), V60 & XC60 T6 4-CYL)
The Audio Control Module (AUD) is equipped with microphones on models with the ANC function. One in the front centre and one in the rear of the passenger compartment.
