Description Of Activations

HINT: Not all the components/functions described need to be implemented in the control module. This varies between different systems and markets. 

PARAMETERS, VALUE 

THROTTLE ANGLE (%) 

Measurement range 0 - 100 %.

The engine control module (ECM) calculates the value from potentiometer 1 for the throttle position sensor. The value indicates the throttle opening. If the engine control module (ECM) detects a fault in the throttle position sensor potentiometer 1, the value from the throttle position sensor potentiometer 2 will be used to represent the throttle angle. This presumes that the function of throttle position sensor potentiometer 2 is OK.

0 % = throttle shut.

100 % = throttle fully open. This corresponds to an opening angle of approximately 84 degrees.

THROTTLE POSITION, CIRCUIT 1 (%) 

Measurement range: -3 to +130 %.

Normal value: 0 - 100 %.

There is an electrical fault if the displayed value is outside the measurement range. The value must increase with increased throttle angle.

Approximately 0 % = throttle closed.

Approximately 100 % = wide open throttle (WOT). This corresponds to an opening angle of approximately 84 degrees.

THROTTLE POSITION, CIRCUIT 2 (%) 

Measurement range: -4 to +140 %.

Normal value: 0 - 100 %.

There is an electrical fault if the displayed value is outside the measurement range. The value must increase with increased throttle angle.

Approximately 0 % = throttle closed.

Approximately 100 % = wide open throttle (WOT). This corresponds to an opening angle of approximately 84 degrees.

COMPONENT/FUNCTION 

INJECTOR VALVES, CYLINDERS 1-6 

Injector valves 1-6 open using the start button and close using the stop button.

Clicking heard from the injector valve.

The engine must be switched off.

AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) RELAY 

Deactivated using the start button and activated using the stop button. Air conditioning A/C must be requested from the control panel.

A clicking noise is heard from the magnetic clutch for the air conditioning (A/C) compressor. If the temperature on the air conditioning (A/C) is set to cold, it will be switched off when the relay is deactivated.

ENGINE COOLING FAN (FC) 30/66/100 % 

The fan is activated using the start button and stopped using the stop button.

There is audible fan noise.

LEAK DIAGNOSTIC UNIT, VALVE 

Certain markets only.

A clicking noise is heard from the valve in the leak diagnostic unit at activation.

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM (EVAP) VALVE 

The evaporative emission system (EVAP) valve opens and closes 5 times per second. Activated using the start button and stopped using the stop button.

There is an audible clicking sound from the EVAP valve.

THROTTLE UNIT 0/25/50/75/100% 

Throttle in the throttle unit controlled.

The throttle opens to different positions depending on which activation is selected.

Read off "Throttle angle", "Throttle position, circuit 1" or "Throttle position, circuit 2" to check the function.

NOTE:

The engine must be switched off at activation. 

RELIEF VALVE (OFF/ON) 

The valve opens using the start button and closes using the stop button.

A weak sound can be heard from the valve.

EXHAUST DAMPER (%) 

Certain versions only.

The engine must be running.

Activate with the open and close buttons.

0 % = throttle closed.

100 % = throttle open.

Listen for any change in engine note.
