Removal And Installation
REMOVAL
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
Make sure that the road wheels are in the straight ahead position.
Set the vehicle to Inactive mode, described in user mode, refer to: USAGE MODE
Remove the following items:
- steering wheel, refer to: STEERING WHEEL
- Panel steering column, refer to: PANEL STEERING COLUMN
Refer to: Special Tool: 981 4089
Ground connection
The graphic shows the back of the component before removal.
Remove the cable harness clips.
Disconnect the connectors.
Remove the screws.
Torque: Steering wheel module, to Steering column, 2.8Nm
Observe caution when carrying out this step.
- Tilt the component somewhat.
- Release the lock.
- Remove the marked part.

INSTALLATION
If the centralization of the clockspring is in doubt, the centralizing of the clockspring must be repeated.
Perform Steering Wheel Module (SWM), adjustment, refer to: STEERING WHEEL MODULE
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
