Pedestrian Protection Sensor (7/258-262, 7/268-269) [2017-2022]: Description
The pedestrian protection sensor monitors the vehicle path to identify obstructing pedestrians. The sensor operates when the vehicle is moving between 25 km/h and 50 km/h. The sensor sends a signal to the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) when an obstructing object is identified. The SRS activates deployment that lifts the rear part of the hood which prevents damage towards the pedestrians.
