Component Test. Switch Module, Instrument Panel [2017-2022]

(COMPONENT TEST)

NOTE:

It is assumed that wires and connectors related to the component are checked and fault free.

To check the button(s):

  1. Check the parameter for status of the button(s). In the event of a fault on the circuit for components, the parameter will indicate the type of fault. In this case, cables must be checked before conclusion is drawn surrounding the components.
  2. Activate the button(s) one at a time and ensure that the status changes and indicates depressed button.

To check the thumbwheel for the rheostat:

  1. Check the parameter for voltage value on the input to the Central Electronic Module (CEM).
  2. Move the thumbwheel in both directions and see that the voltage on the input varies in relation to the thumbwheel's position.

To check the thumbwheel for headlamp range adjustment:

  1. Check whether dipped beam's light pattern on at least one side of the vehicle regulated in height when altering the thumbwheel.
  2. If no regulation of the light pattern can be detected, measure the output signal from the components to the headlight housings and ensure that the output signal varies in voltage when the thumbwheel is altered.
