Transmission Control Module (TCM) (4/28) [2019-2022, TG-81SC | 2018-2022, TG-81SC AWD]: Description

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) ensures optimal gearshift timing and lock-up engagement by processing signals from a number of sensors in the transmission and in the engine management system. The TCM and the gear position sensor are integrated in the same unit.

• In a TG-81 transmission, the sensor informs the control module about which gear position that is selected (P, R, N or D).
• In a 8G transmission, the sensor informs the control module if the gearbox is in position P or not.

The TCM forwards this information to the Engine Control Module (ECM).
