The Transmission Control Module (TCM) on a TG-81 gearbox is a LIN master and a CAN slave. It is connected to both the Propulsion CAN and a private CAN, together with the Engine Control Module (ECM), for redundancy.

The TCM on an 8G gearbox is a CAN slave. It is connected to both Front 1 CAN and Front 3 CAN for redundancy.
