- The Vehicle Gateway Module (VGM) is the master ECU for the Connectivity CAN network and FlexRay.
- Acts as a security gateway for access to vehicle functions via CAN / FlexRay / Ethernet.
- Acts as Ethernet switch which connects the Telematics and Connectivity Antenna Module (TCAM) and the Infotainment Head Unit (IHU).
- Is part of the odometer backup system.
