No Check Engine Warning Light

  1. Turn ignition on. If oil pressure light is on, go to step 2). If light is off, inspect No. 3 fuse. If No. 3 fuse is okay, repair open circuit in Yellow wire between fuse and combination meter.
  2. Turn ignition off. Connect system checker harness between ECU and ECU connector. Jumper terminal B6 to ground. Turn ignition on. If warning light is now on, go to step 3). If light is off, replace warning light bulb or repair open in Green/Orange wire between ECU terminal B6 and combination meter.
  3. Individually, connect terminal A2 and then terminal A4 to terminal B6. If warning light fails to illuminate, repair open in Black A2 and/or A4 wires between ECU and ground.
  4. If warning light illuminated in step 3), substitute a known good ECU and retest. If condition is rectified, replace ECU.
