Code 15 - Ignition Output Signal
- Turn ignition off. Remove hazard fuse at battery positive terminal for 10 seconds to reset ECU. Start engine and observe "CHECK ENGINE" light. If light is off, problem is intermittent. Test drive and check again.
- If light is on, turn ignition off. Disconnect 2-wire connector at distributor. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and Black/Yellow wire terminal on wiring harness side. If battery voltage is not present, repair open Black/Yellow wire between the 2-wire connector and ignition switch.
- If battery voltage is present, turn ignition off. Reconnect 2-wire distributor connector. Connect ECU test harness between ECU and ECU connector. Turn ignition on.
- Individually, measure voltage between ECU terminals B15 (pos.), B17 (pos.), and A18 (ground). See Figure . If about 10 volts is not present, repair open or short in White wire between distributor and ECU terminals B15 and B17, or replace ignitor unit. If about 10 volts is present at any of the terminals, substitute a known good ECU and recheck. If condition is rectified, replace original ECU.
