By-Pass Control System (Legend): Notes

Intake manifold has 3 air intake paths; long, short, and very short. Increased engine torque over a broad range is achieved by switching paths. High torque at less than 3100 RPM is achieved by using long intake path. High torque at higher RPM is achieved by using short intake path. Maximum horsepower is achieved by using very short intake path.
