Control Unit Input Tests 1 - 9

Disconnect the 7-P and 22-P connectors from the Control Unit, located under the right front seat see Fig 1 . Make the input tests No. 1 - 9 at the harness pins.

CONTROL UNIT INPUT TESTS (HARNESS DISCONNECTED)

No. Wire Test Condition Test: Desired Result Possible Cause, If Result is not Obtained
1 WHITE/GREEN Under all conditions Check for voltage to ground Blown No. 36 (30A) fuseor an open in the wire.
2 WHITE/ RED Under all conditions Check for voltage to ground Blown No. 35 (30A) fuseor an open in the wire.
3 BLACK (1) Under all conditions Check for continuity to ground Poor ground (Hatchback: G502, Sedan: G552) or an open in the wire.
4 BLUE/ WHITE (1) and BLUE/ RED or RED/ BLUE (1) and RED/ YELLOW (1) (1) (2) Faulty shoulder buckle motor or the rail. An open in the wire.
5 BLACK (2) Under all conditions Check for continuity to ground Poor ground (Hatchback:G501,G502, Sedan: G551,G552)or an open in wire
6 WHITE/YELLOW (2) Under all conditions Check for voltage to ground Blown No. 34 (10A) fuseor an open in the wire.
7 BLUE/ WHITE (2) Ign. key turned from "II" to "O" position. Check for Voltage to ground when key is turned from "II" to "O" Faulty Ing. Switch. an open in the wire.
8 YELLOW Ing. Switch ON. Check for voltage to ground Blown No. 23(10A) fuse or an open in the wire.
9 YELLOW /RED Ing. Switch ON. Attach to ground: Warning light in the gauge assembly Should come ON. Blown bulb. or An open in the wire.
(1) Connect BLUE/WHITE (1) (or RED/BLUE) terminal to the WHITE/GREEN(1) terminal, and BLUE/RED (or RED/YELLOW(1)) terminal to the BLACK(1) terminal when the shoulder buckle is in the front position.
(2) Check shoulder buckle motor operation: Driver's (Passenger's) shoulder buckle should slide from the front position to the rear lock position. When reversing the test leads, the motor should revolve in the counter direction.
