Cruise Control Can Be Set, But Indicator Light Does Not Light

  1. Check for defective cruise control indicator bulb. Replace as necessary. Check ground connection G301, located at left side of engine compartment next to windshield washer fluid reservoir. Check ground connection G401, located behind left kick panel. Repair ground connections as necessary.
  2. Check cruise control unit inputs. See CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Check gauge dimming circuit. See DIMMER CONTROL CIRCUIT  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Inspect the following wires for open circuit: Yellow wire between underdash fuse No. 23 and gauge dimming circuit, and Red wire between gauge dimming circuit and cruise control unit. Repair as necessary.
