Distributor: Description and Operation

Distributor Components:

PURPOSE
The distributor acts as a rotary switch, distributing the firing voltage at the instant of ignition to the spark plugs in a pre-set sequence.

CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION
The distributor is driven by the camshaft. This distributor has an internal coil and ignition control unit and gets signals electronically from the Electronic Control Module.
