Dash Light Dimmer Control
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Acura Integra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn ignition off. Remove instrument panel cover from dash. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect wiring from dash light dimmer control unit. Ensure Black wire has continuity to ground. See Fig 1 . If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black wire and/or poor ground connection.
- Turn headlight switch on. Check Red/Black wire for battery voltage. See Fig 1 . If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check fuse No. 19 (10-amp) in fuse/relay box under instrument panel, combination light switch or open in Red/Black wire. Repair as necessary.
- With headlight switch on, ground Red wire. Dash lights should come on full bright. If lights are bright, circuits are okay. If dash lights still do not work correctly, replace dash light dimmer control unit. If lights do not go full bright, check condition of dash bulbs and open in Red wire. Repair as necessary.
